Wester Hailes Education Centre students last week used their new bicycle maintenance skills to provide free bicycle checks to staff who cycle to work at Waverley Court.
The students were assisted by Niall Patterson and Lewis Hoad from Edinburgh Bicycle Cooperative. Niall, who has been training the students in bicycle maintenance since October 2017 commented: “ It has been an excellent experience to work with Wester Hailes Education Centre in delivering bike maintenance tuition to some of their S3 pupils.
We usually teach adults at the bicycle co-operative so it was both a challenge and a privilege to work with younger students. I have been consistently impressed with how quickly they picked things up.
We really look forward to working more with the school in the near future.”
