A new app to help trace and combat the spread of coronavirus has gone live in Scotland. Downloading the Protect Scotland app will mean you’ll then get an alert if you’ve come into close contact with anyone who then reports that they’ve tested positive. The software will be used to support the Test and Protect system.

With increasing numbers of reported cases, this tool can give you an early warning and help stop the spread of coronavirus.
The app is free to download from the Google or Apple app stores to your own smartphone. If you have an Apple phone, it needs to be on the iOS13 or later operating system – you can see a list of compatible iPhones below. You need to keep your Bluetooth switched on and you should keep your phone with you as much as possible. Once you’ve downloaded the app, please follow the instructions to activate it.
You can read more about the Protect Scotland app on the Scottish Government website.
Please remember to follow the Scottish Government guidelines to keep you, your family and colleagues safe.
