We are delighted to have been given an award Highly Commended from Sky Sports Mentors for our project Leadership which we have been running in conjunction with Sky Sports Living For Sport. Only three schools in the UK have been given this award and we are the only school in Scotland to receive the accolade out of nearly 300 schools. The generalised plan was to increase engagement of the participating pupils in the project and to re-engage our cluster primary schools in increasing activity levels. We had a group of 20 pupils delivering a variety of sporting activities listed below to 100 primary pupils:

• Bikeabilty prog.
• Enjoyaball
• Club Golf
• Athletics

Each pupil in the group where trained on how to deliver the activities to younger children. They learnt how to judge behaviors, plan lessons understand levels of work as well as the knowledge and understanding to deliver the specific activity. During the course of the year both to build confidence on delivery before sessions and to showcase the learnt skills the group were involved in several projects:

• Highland Games Sports Day
• Giant Heptathlon
• Lowland Games
• HWB primary engagement day
• Primary Ceilidh
