Wester Hailes Education Centre staff were joint winners in the Getting It Right For Every Child category at last Thursday’s Children & Families Achievements Awards with the Cool, Calm and Connected Peer Education programme which saw S6 students being trained to deliver sessions focusing on the promotion of positive mental health and emotional wellbeing. The students then went on to deliver the programme through PSE lessons to S2 students.
Staff also celebrated the success of the work undertaken by the Wester Hailes Cluster – Student Monitoring Group which was awarded a Highly Commended. This project was set up to allow cluster primary schools to access approprate support from agencies in the local community to meet the needs of local families. Also nominated was our Improving Parental Engagement project designed to reach out to our parent community and encourage greater involvement in their child’s learning.
