This year, the GEOBUS from St Andrews University visited WHEC Geography students at the beginning of December. Senior classes attended special sessions and a range of activities were enjoyed by all. The Nat 4 class learned about Earthquakes and were challenged to build an earthquake proof building. Our photo shows the winning design! The S3 class looked at how Volcanoes are monitored and predicted. They thoroughly enjoyed the anticipation of getting to explode their own volcanoes! Finally, the Nat 5/ Higher class learned more about Rivers and fluvial processes. They built river features in sand and designed a river valley to include flood management strategies.
