Library News! – New S1 Chapters January visit to Waterstones

S1 Chapters Library group braved the snowy weather and visited Waterstones Bookshop in Princes Street on Tuesday morning. As ever, WHEC students were well looked after by the bookshop staff who were very helpful at finding titles for the school as well as individual students applying a good discount to all purchases. We also enjoyed hot drinks in their top floor cafeteria, with wonderful snow filled views of Edinburgh Castle.

The students were asked to select books that would appeal to S1 and to our P7s coming into S1, after the summer holidays. A big thank you to all the students involved for choosing excellent books and for being superb ambassadors for the school. Participating in such an activity encourages our students to gain confidence in each others company, take responsibility for completing an enjoyable but serious task and demonstrate their ability to follow instructions to keep themselves safe whilst travelling.  Well done S1: Kayla, Daniel, David, Nafiz; Zaira, Kiera, Demi, Chloe, Niomi; Ben, Erin, Eva, Elle and Abi.
