Ever wanted to make a magic potion? A Polyjuice potion, a bogart or see a Pensieve? Our S1 students had just such an opportunity during Dr JC Denis visit to our school Science laboratory, in January. Styling himself as a wizard, Dr JC demonstrated  how to create beautiful and strange potions, like the ones taught to Harry Potter, Ron and Hermione at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Students were allocated a Hogwarts house – Gryfindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. The students had the opportunity to do a few hands-on physics and chemistry experiments, including creating slime, which many took home! Dr JC  but was certainly an awful lot friendlier than Potions Master, Professor Severus Snape, from the Harry Potter novels. We look forward to Dr JC returning to our school after the Easter holidays for a second Potions class.
