Face Covering Update

Dear parent/carer,

I know you are receiving a lot of information about your child at the moment and for the best part, I am trying to make this as succinct and clear as possible to avoid confusion. This update is about Face Coverings.

You may be aware that the Deputy First Minister announced yesterday that face coverings are to be worn in schools at certain times. The government guidance stipulates those times as

where adults and young people in secondary schools (including special schools and independent and grant aided schools) are moving about the school in corridors and confined communal areas (including toilets) where physical distancing is particularly difficult to maintain- pg 18

This will come into effect from Monday 31st August 2020.

I would ask that you support your child to start wearing a face covering in school and we can advise them about the correct times to wear it.

We understand that some individuals may be exempt from face coverings and you check the guidance to see if you are. If so I would ask that you contact the school and explain your circumstances.
