Community Groups

We work closely with a large number of local organisations and groups.

We play a very active role in the following network:

West Edinburgh Community Learning Partnership

The WECLP is a joint approach by education providers and the local community in West Edinburgh to the planning and delivery of local non-formal learning opportunities.

The partnership provides an opportunity for learners and potential learners to come together to plan and implement opportunities that are informed by the needs and aspirations of the local community.

The partnership has produced two action plans which tackle a number of key priorities.

Amongst other activities, the group co-ordinates a programme of Saturday morning activities and a learning support fund to enable local people to overcome barriers to attend education or training.

For full details of all of these activities telephone Christine Vincenti on 0131 458 5959 or go to www.westedinburgh.myed.org/

Are you interested in:

  • Accessing training or education?
  • Improving your skills and knowledge?

Are you unable to do so due to financial or disability issues?

If so, we may be able to help.

The West Edinburgh Community Learning Partnership offers local people - in Baberton, Broomhouse, Calders, Parkhead, Sighthill, Longstone or Wester Hailes - grants of up to £250 per year to help them on their learning journey.
