Pupils that took part in the two year Career Ready program graduated in April. A graduation ceremony took place in the Perth Concert Hall with schools from across Scotland. Three pupils from WHEC were able to attend and received their Career Ready Graduation Certificates.
Career Ready gives students the chance to transform their lives by providing them with the real-life skills and knowledge they need for work. In Scotland we work with schools not colleges. We form a strategic partnership with a Local Authority and together develop a plan to engage secondary schools in their area over a period of time.
Aimed at 16-18 years-olds, the Career Ready programme sits alongside your students’ schools studies. Our employer volunteers provide your students with one-to-one mentoring, masterclasses, workplace visits and a paid summer internship between S5 and S6 to help them bridge the gap between school and the world of work.
